The hunt

Chukar up and down and around the hills

We raise our own chukar. They’re ready to go in 16 weeks, and they’re released for groups and individuals into acres of great cover.

A chukar morning here means “chasing them chuk-chuk Chukar up and down and around the hills.” They’re wily birds, and they fly. Some parties get everything they put up; some don’t.

We offer guided hunts, or use your own dogs: bring yours and work them, or go out with one of our guides and their dogs. Nellie had her own first go on chukar here.

It’s for beginners to seasoned hunters, and we can tailor your hunt to your specific needs. Kids come out for their first birds; one young hunter shot her first chukar here in February 2026.

Fun Runs are chukar, too: 2 hunters and 2 dogs get twenty minutes to find 10 chukar, and the team with the most birds brought in wins. More on Fun Runs and company hunts.

Some mornings are a mixed bag, chukar and pheasant both (see Wyoming Pheasant Hunts). Buy as many birds as you want: call, and Craig will set it up.
